About QHR Technologies
QHR Technologies is a Canadian Healthcare Technology Company, bringing innovation to the healthcare system for providers and their patients. Their suite of technologies includes two products, Medeo Virtual Care and AccuroEMR, the largest single electronic medical record platform in the country. Loblaw Companies Limited, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shoppers Drug Mart Inc., acquired QHR in 2016.
Challenge
QHR’s electronic medical record platform is mandated to stay in strict accordance with Canadian data privacy laws. As a result, all of their customers must sign off on a series of consent forms acknowledging they will use the system responsibly and protect confidential patient data. Such regulations vary by province and are often subject to frequent changes.
QHR needed a more efficient method to notify, capture and maintain consent and custodianship compliance in respect of the users of its own software products. Essentially, they required functionality for delegated administrators at client sites to add users who will go through the compliance onboarding process, which is required to gain access to QHR’s software.
Solution
AppCentrica was engaged to implement Salesforce Community Cloud and setup a branded customer community portal.
Additionally, AppCentrica built out a DocuSign integration with Community Cloud to empower customer administrators with an easy method of distributing the relevant provincial consent documentation.
This integration proved to be quite complex and required custom development to align with DocuSign licensing constraints.
Finally, to keep pace with changes in government data privacy laws, AppCentrica made sure to build flexibility into the solution to simply upload new forms.
Outcomes
With this new platform, QHR customers have the ability to log in to the portal, create internal users and distribute the relevant consent forms via automated emails. Additionally, signed documentation can be automatically returned to Salesforce creating a closed loop and giving QHR the visibility and tracking capabilities needed to streamline operations and delivery.
“We were recommended to AppCentrica by our Salesforce rep to stand up a Customer Community Cloud solution to manage compliance for our new user onboarding process. Working with the AppCentrica team was a great experience. They were very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. We are currently engaging AppCentrica for ongoing managed services to give us access to skill sets we don’t have in-house to support our Salesforce org.”
