Should CIOs be expected to initiate transformational IT change in an organization? There are two schools of thought for a CIO: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” versus “If you’re not moving forward, you’re moving backward.”
Many CIOs have staked their careers on making innovative and transformational changes – changes that fundamentally alter the trajectory of their companies in a competitive landscape. While the success of these initiatives may entail some risk for the organization and its champions of change, the results can be game-changing. Is it the job of a CIO to drive innovative initiatives and “move the business forward”. Or, is the role of a CIO to just “keep the lights on”? Is there any value in taking half steps forward?
AppCentrica will be hosting this CIO only event on December 2nd at the Hilton Hotel. For more information on Toronto CIO and this event click here.
